Micro Laser Sintering for the highest quality standards - The future on your wrist
Introduction
Watchmaking has a centuries-old tradition in Europe and is regarded as the epitome of elegance, quality and precision. Precise series parts are manufactured to the highest quality standards. Existing micromachining technologies are increasingly reaching their limits. Additional individualization can only be achieved at considerable cost.
Example: Watch with customized case, dial and crown wheel - manufactured using micro laser sintering; material: 1.4404 (316L)

3D MicroPrint GmbH carried out a feasibility study on the production of selected watch components using micro laser sintering. The two-part case, the dial and the crown wheel were adapted to the process, designed to optimize weight and then manufactured. The study showed that micro laser sintering opens up completely new design possibilities in component design. It also offers the opportunity to produce one-offs and individualized small batches cost-effectively. The systems from 3D MicroPrint GmbH are a real alternative, particularly when it comes to procuring spare parts that are no longer available on the market.
The components shown were manufactured on a DMP50 GP micro laser sintering system developed by
3D MicroPrint GmbH.
